Meet Jax, a 2-year-old male Pit Bull mix.
Jax is a super handsome young boy. He was found as a stray and the finder is continue to foster him while YHS finds him a furever home. Jax loves people and has an active and adventurous spirit. He is playful with other dogs but does best when they are playful like him. He has lived with cats in his foster home with no issue. Due to his size and energy level it is best that Jax find a home with no small children. Jax doesn't like to be kenneled and doesn't like barriers, he wants to be with his people when possible.
Please do your breed research before adopting a Terrier mix. They can be a bit stubborn at times and need lots of physical and mental stimulus to keep them happy. Terrier mixes can be strong-willed and need an equally determined person to keep them in line. Terriers are fun, athletic and smart. Many people have fallen in love with them over the years, but it is important to keep their breed needs in mind if you are considering adding one to your household.
If you are interested in adopting this pet please fill out an adoption questionnaire at www.yakimahumane.org. A Yakima Humane Society staff member will contact you once your questionnaire has been processed. Adopters are welcome to visit the adoption center Monday-Saturday.
A Picture says 1000 words...right? While an animal's picture draws interest, the reality is that as a potential adopter most people would like as much information as possible about a pet. The Yakima Humane Society is an open admission shelter. What does this mean? Over 90% of the pets at the adoption center arrive as strays, no history of behavior or medical care is known. Adding a pet to your family is a big responsibility. Please research carefully and remember that adoption is life saving. Adopt Don't Shop.
