Thanks to our coalition partner, Pawsitive Alliance, funding is now available in our community!
Pawsitive Alliance received a grant recently, directed to continuing spay/neuter initiatives in Yakima County!
The Handsel Foundation is a family foundation that was established in 1990 to provide financial support to organizations working in the area of animal welfare. Their main purpose is to provide grants to nonprofit organizations whose members are dedicated to ending the cruelty and neglect suffered by too many companion animals.
Funds from this grant are targeted to cats in zip codes 98901 and 98902 in Yakima County.
We have partnered with the Feral Cat Spay Neuter Project (FCSNP)to provide high-volume, high-quality spay/neuter to the felines of Yakima County. PetSmart Charities has recognized FCSNP as a National Mentoring Organization and we are deeply grateful to the Feral Cat Spay Neuter Project for mentoring our organization in high-volume, high-quality spay/neuter so we can provide this life-saving surgery in the most effecient way possible.
Thanks to the generosity of Dr. Bruce Hutton we are able to offer one day clinics each month (at the Ahtanum Veterinary Clinic) to provide spay/neuter services for felines in our community. We accept both feral and owned cats of low-income households. To find out more and get involved in our clinics go to www.yakimahumane.org/SNYP.html.
