You and your family are invited to participate in the
10th Annual See Spot Run: 5k Fun Run & Doggie Dash

Sherman Park is going to the dogs, See Spot Run style! What could be more fun than spending a day with your best canine friend? How about spending the day with your best friend and several hundred other dog lovers and their dogs? And, what if you could join the fun and support homeless pets in your community? That would be fun, See Spot Run style!

  • When:  Sunday—April 29th, 2012 from 11am – 2pm
  • Where:  Sherman Park next to the Humane Society of Central Washington
  • What: Our 10th annual fun 5k/3.1 mile run/walk promises to be our best yet! Join over 300 animal enthusiasts showing their support for homeless pets while enjoying the great outdoors—not to mention a bit of healthy fun. Bring your own furry friend(s) along, or walk one of our adoptable dogs. There will be food and drink vendors, demonstrations and prizes for race winners and pledge collectors!
  • Who:  Everyone—with or without their four-legged companions! All levels of fitness and ability are welcome—we also offer a short course for those that prefer that option.
  • Why:  To have fun and raise money for homeless pets in our community.

Design a T-shirt Contest
Open to all students in Yakima County ~ Kindergarten through 8th grade. Put your creativity to work for a chance to win $25 in cash, 2 t-shirts showcasing YOUR drawing, and bragging rights!
  • Get creative! Have fun! We want YOU to design our 10th anniversary t-shirt! We are looking for artwork that portrays a dog or dogs participating in this year’s 5k Fun Run & Doggie Dash.
  • All entries must be received by Saturday ~ March 24, 2012
  • Contest Rules & Entry Forms are available in your school office, at the Humane Society of Central Washington or can be downloaded HERE

Registration Fees:
Student and individual registrations include a t-shirt, doggie bandana and waste bag, Family registrations include 2 t-shirts, doggie bandana and waste bag.
  • Students - 18 & under:  $15
  • Individuals:  $20
  • Families:  $35
  • Late Registration - day of event: add $5  (pre-registration ends at midnight April 22)
  • Extra T-shirts:  $10

Awards:
Awards to top three in the following divisions:
  • Men with and without a Canine Companion
  • Women with and without a Canine Companion

Also, awards to top three juniors in the following divisions (no gender distinction):
  • 15-18 years
  • 11-14 years
  • 10 & under

Rules:
  • All dogs must be licensed and current on their vaccinations
  • Dogs must be leashed (no longer than six feet) at ALL TIMES. No flexi or retractable leashes
  • No aggressive dogs, dogs younger than 6 months, or female dogs in heat
  • Dog handlers must be at least 18 years of age or accompanied by an adult at ALL TIMES

Help Spot raise money for the animals and win prizes while doing it! Collecting pledges is easy - ask your friends, family and co-workers to help you support homeless pets in our community. You may use the pledge form in the See Spot Run registration packet or download one HERE. Use pledge sheet and collect pledges. Bring pledge sheet and pledges to the event.

Pledge Prize Levels (Based on pledges PAID on event day):
  • $50 in pledges and receive a sports water bottle
  • $100 in pledges and receive a sports water bottle & baseball cap
  • $250 in pledges and receive a sports water bottle, baseball cap & sweatshirt
  • $500 or more in pledges and receive a sports water bottle, baseball cap, sweatshirt & sports bag
